As school districts ponder their plans for the coming school year, many would like to supply students with face shields, which are more effective than face masks at preventing the spread of COVID-19, and also make breathing easier. Due to a global shortage of PPE, this may prove a challenge.
To help, Intec is promoting its FB8000 automatic flatbed cutter as a face shield maker, noting that it can cut a visor in 25 seconds, and produce almost 1,000 face shields per day. The machine can be stacked up with 1,000 sheets of special clear film and it will work unattended. Intec has made a royalty-free face shield cutting design available for download from its website, complete with visor and head band.
