Brother Planning to Acquire Mutoh
After attempting a hostile takeover of Roland DG two years ago, Brother Industries is moving to acquire Mutoh Holdings Co., Ltd. with the goal of making Mutoh a wholly-owned subsidiary, according to an article in Printweek. Brother’s main offerings are currently laser/inkjet printers, label printers, thermal printers, and scanning devices, so acquiring Roland would greatly strengthen its wide-format and industrial business. Brother says the deal would boost the competitiveness of the two companies’ products.
