In-plants Gather in Salt Lake City
On Aug. 27, in Salt Lake City, the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) held one of its popular Road Shows at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in-plant. The one-day mini-conference drew about 40 in-plant managers from 11 different in-plants such as DMBA, Brigham Young University, Intermountain Health, and Capital One.

After a welcome by Director John Toth, Canon’s Bob Barbera took the podium for a presentation about production inkjet printing. Then Swag Solutions’ Lou Manitzas led a session telling attendees how they can turn their in-plants into apparel and swag-selling powerhouses.
Then attendees had a chance to visit the booths set up by 14 exhibitors and talk with them about the solutions they provide. After lunch, attendees got a tour of the in-plant. With 236 employees, it is the country’s third largest in-plant.
IPMA Road Shows are free to all in-plants. There are two more planned for 2026:

Bob has served as editor of In-plant Impressions since October of 1994. Prior to that he served for three years as managing editor of Printing Impressions, a commercial printing publication. Mr. Neubauer is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences and has visited 200 in-plant operations around the world. He has given presentations to numerous in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including the Association of College and University Printers and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association. He also coordinates the annual In-Print contest, co-sponsored by IPMA and In-plant Impressions.
