Contest Judging is Monday
The number of entries in the In-Print 2013 contest jumped more than 11 percent this year over 2012, from 433 to 482. As a result, the judges will have their work cut out for them when they assemble at IPMA headquarters on Monday to pick the winners.
Sponsored by both IPG and the In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association, In-Print 2013 is the only national printing contest exclusively for in-plants. This year's lineup of judges will feature a seasoned blend of in-plant managers and graphic arts experts:
- Dr. Jim Sours, professor and chair of Graphic Communications Management at Pittsburg State University
- Lori Fuller, of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
- Mark McCarty, of Missouri State University.
- Larry Clements, of Redlands Community College.
- Chris Anderson, of Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators.
IPG Editor Bob Neubauer and IPMA Executive Director Carma Goin will be on hand to oversee the judging, which will take place at IPMA headquarters in Kearney, Mo., outside of Kansas City. Neubauer will also video the selection of the Best of Show winners. This will be shown during the IPMA awards banquet to reveal the two Best of Show winners (offset and non-offset). Watch one of last year's videos here.
For the first time in the contest's history, entries in the non-offset categories have surpassed those in the offset group. More than 60 percent of entries were printed on non-offset devices, a major turning point for the contest.
