Getting started with a Web-to-print system can be a stressful change for any in-plant. No manager knows this more than Rocky Reynolds, supervisor of Reprographics/Mail at Citrus College, in Glendora, CA. After beginning his Web-to-print journey a few years ago with a system that created more headaches than efficiencies, Reynolds vowed to take a new approach.
In an IPG webinar next Wednesday, Reynolds will talk about that new approach and reveal how he went about selecting a system more suited to the needs of his college. Moderated by In-plant Graphics Editor Bob Neubauer, this webinar will detail one in-plant’s journey to offer the best and easiest work request submittal process for all faculty, staff and adjunct professors. The webinar will take place Wednesday, March 11, at 2 pm ET/11 am PT.
Today at Citrus College Reprographics, 80 percent of the work that comes into the in-plant is submitted online. Getting to this point, though, required a strong understanding of user’s needs, in-depth testing with top users and a focused marketing effort to accompany the launch. The webinar will cover Citrus’ agonizing decision to pull the plug on a dysfunctional system and start from scratch, and the ups downs faced by the in-plant along the way. The presentation will offer a frank look at the times the in-plant veered off course, and how it was able to gain its footing again.
