In-plant managers are visiting Iowa State University (ISU) Printing Services today for the first In-plant Printing and Mailing Association Road Show since 2019.
The award-winning in-plant, recently featured on the cover of In-plant Impressions, is celebrating 100 years of service to the Ames, Iowa, university this year. At today's event, attendees will be able to trace the in-plant's history in a graphic detailing its historical timeline, from 1922 to present. It was printed on 48x96" aluminum composite and mounted to the lobby wall.
The highlight of today’s event will be Printing Services’ new Canon varioPRINT iX3200 sheetfed inkjet press. When the in-plant installed it in June, it became only the second university in-plant to implement an inkjet press.
In addition to a tour of the 29,000-sq.ft. operation, today’s in-plant mini-conference will include a “bring your own problem” networking session, presentations by Ricoh and Canon aimed at helping in-plants innovate and advance, and a deep dive into how the State of Louisiana digitally transformed its print and mail operation.
