Judges Select 80 In-Print 2026 Winners
On Monday March 16 a panel of judges selected 80 Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners in the In-Print 2026 contest, the only printing competition open to all in-plant printers.
After days of warm, spring-like weather, it was a chilly 10 degrees outside when judges met at In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) headquarters in Kearney, Missouri. It took them nearly nine and a half hours to inspect all 360 entries. In addition to Gold, Silver and Bronze awards, several additional "Judges' Choice" awards were also selected. Overall, 32 different in-plants won awards.
The top In-Print winner this year was the University of Oklahoma, which won eight awards, four of them Gold. Oregon State University and the Church of Scientology each took home six awards, and the University of Texas at Austin and the World Bank Group both earned five. Winning four awards were Mayo Clinic, Iowa State University, Messiah University, and West Texas A&M University. Also notable, Cedarville University, the University of Tennessee, and Oklahoma City Community College each won three In-Print awards.
The judges this year were:
- Wes Troup, World Bank and IPMA contest chair
- Kirsten Noyola, CHRISTUS Health
- Bruce La Londe, Blue Valley Schools
- Jason Kermashek, Pittsburg State University
- Tammy Dunham, Nestle Purina
Also helping with judging when not photographing the winners was Larry Clements (Redlands Community College, retired). IPMA’s Theresa Hatcher stepped in to judge as well when needed.
The categories introduced last year for extra large graphics installations and wraps and items printed on rigid substrates drew a respectable number of entries. The stickers category brought in more than two dozen entries.
Though offset categories have been reduced over the years, entries printed with offset still made up 11% of the total number, down from 20% last year. Six categories were reserved exclusively for in-plants with 10 or fewer employees and those categories drew 68 entries.
For the second year in a row, categories were split into four divisions: offset, digital, small shops, and specialty/wide-format. After each division’s winners were picked, the Gold-winning pieces were laid back down and judges chose a “Best of Division” winner. At the end of the day, the winners from those divisions were brought back out and judges picked a single Best of Show winner. Best of Division and Best of Show winners will be revealed at the IPMA 2026 conference in Greenville, South Carolina in June.
The list of winners is still being checked and will be published in the days ahead.
