As division director of the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) for Michigan, Hampton has responsibility for leading both the printing and mailing in-plant facilities. She joined the department in 1994, beginning as a typesetter and holding many different roles, until she was promoted to director in 2016. These varied roles provided her with key insight on customer service, the offset and digital printing industry, budgeting, estimating and the use of metrics to drive decision-making.
Hampton holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Michigan State University and is a proud Spartan. She has been an IPMA member since 2014 and previously served as the secretary/treasurer.
