Graph Expo Must See ’Ems to be Named in Advance
The annual Must See ’Ems recognition awards are always a GRAPH EXPO highlight, and for 2012 the program will introduce two new features—the “Best in Category” awards and first-ever “Legacy Award.”
Best in Category awards will go to the products that receive the highest score in each of the 11 Must See ’Ems categories.
The Legacy Award will be presented to one past Must See ’Ems award recipient that a panel of industry-expert judges deems as having a “revolutionary” impact on the graphic communications industry.
New for GRAPH EXPO 2012, all Must See ’Ems recipients will be named in advance of the show slated for Oct. 7-10, 2012, in Chicago’s McCormick Place. However, on Oct. 6, at the conclusion of the pre-show EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK Conference, the Best of Category award winners will be revealed, and the event will conclude with the announcement of the inaugural Legacy Award.
Must See ’Ems Award categories for 2012 are: Sales and Order Entry; Prepress and Premedia; Pressroom (Analog Presses); Pressroom (Digital Presses); Pressroom (Wide Format); Postpress Finishing (Analog and Large-Format); Postpress Finishing (Digital and Small-Format); Postpress Finishing (Wide-Format); Imprinting, Mailing, Shipping and Fulfillment; Management Systems; and, Future Print (Technology Demonstrations).
All entries are voted on by a selection committee of printers, journalists, consultants, and educators and the highest scoring entry in each category will be recognized with a Best in Category award. The panel will also comb past Must See ’Ems recipients in order to determine which product from years past has had a truly revolutionary impact on the printing and graphic communications industry.
“The enhancements to this year’s Must See ’Ems program were made with GRAPH EXPO attendees in mind,” states Ralph Nappi, president of the Graphic Arts Show Co. (GASC), which produces the show. “By revealing the winners in advance, we believe it will help show goers make the most of their time onsite by planning their booth visits in advance.”
All Must See ’Ems award winners, including Best in Category and Legacy, will be identified on the GRAPH EXPO show floor with descriptive placards, and product locator kiosks. They will also appear in the Must See ’Ems printed product directories and be featured at both the www.graphexpo.com and www.mustseeems.com websites. Recipients will also be free to use the recognition in their advertising, promotional efforts, and show-related press releases.
