Bindery and finishing equipment will be a major focus for in-plants attending PRINTING United Expo. Here’s a preview of some of the new equipment that will be on the show floor in Las Vegas.
Spiel Associates (Booth N5503) will show a range of bindery equipment. The Sterling DigiBinder Super-CA is a self-adjusting perfect binder with an automatic air-cover feeder and vertical stacking. Dual glue pots and a heavy-duty roughing blade handle, coated, oil-infused, and UV-stock. Bind from two sheets to over two inches thick, up to 300 books per hour, no manual adjustment required. The Sterling Coilmaster Pro FB automatically forms coil as it enters a pre-punched book. A conveyor aligns holes to the coil radius, feeds the book to the inserting station, cuts and crimps before ejecting. Runs up to 1,000 books per hour, depending on coil size; pitch is set in advance.
The Fold Stream Extended Folder/Gluer with Auto Lock Bottom Assembly from Graphco (Booth N5635) streamlines folding, gluing, and auto-lock box production in one compact system. Produce presentation folders, cartons, mailers, and packaging with fast setup and exceptional accuracy.
The SB-660ACF from Shark Finishing Machinery (Booth N5204) is a fully automated perfect binder with spine milling & notching, integrated pre-melt tank & side glue application, and automatic cover feeder with in-line spine & hinge scoring and automatic feed.
Also on display from Shark will be the SC-31TS, a 32.2" hydraulic paper cutter. It is fully programmable with air bed, cut line light, safety beams, side tables, micro adjustment, soft clamp foot pedal, spare blade, and blade adjustment right from the screen. Power: 220v, 1ph.
The FOTOBA XLA320 from Colex Finishing/FOTOBA (Booths C1329, C1337) handles media up to 3.2 meters with fully automatic vertical blade positioning. Designed for banners, rollups, and other large-format substrates, it delivers straight-line cutting productivity up to five to seven times faster than flatbed cutters.
The Apex M Series Magnetic Drive High-Speed Flatbed Cutter from Cutworx USA (Booth C501) features magnetic linear drive technology, triple-tool capability, a 1.8kW liquid-cooled router, seven-position automatic bit changer, and integrated conveyor system, it automates cutting, routing, creasing, and flexible-media processing to increase capacity, reduce waste, and streamline finishing workflows.
The Summa Vantage Automated Cutting System from Flatbed Tools (Booth C132) combines intelligent tooling and automation for efficient, high-speed finishing workflows. Featuring automated calibration, high-speed routing, knife cutting, conveyor automation, and workflow integration, the platform helps streamline cutting operations across a range of production applications.
Separo PRO from Müller Martini (Booth N6129) automates destacking for digital book production, processing pre-glued, thread-sewn and loose-leaf book blocks in variable formats and thicknesses. Its FIFO workflow and static tacking reduce manual handling.
The Vira Cutter and Stacker from EMT International (Booth N5229) automates finishing for roll-fed digital print applications. Integrated decurling, vision inspection, and production analytics support precise cutting, quality verification, defect diversion, and efficient job changeovers across pharmaceutical, direct mail, postcard, and commercial print production.
The LamPrix 100 from GBC SEAL (Booth N5521) is a high-performance, nearline cold laminator that feeds, laminates and trims up to 100 letter-size sheets per minute. Finish entire jobs faster in-house, eliminate outsourcing and delays, and keep your profits.
