Pantone's Color of the Year for 2020 is Classic Blue

Pantone announced its Color of the Year for 2020, and is doing things a little differently this year. Before we get too deep into that, we can reveal that the official hue is Pantone 19-4502, Classic Blue.

"It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on. Imbued with a deep resonance, Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue provides an anchoring foundation. A boundless blue evocative of the vast and infinite evening sky, Pantone 19-4052 Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking, challenging us to think more deeply, increase our perspective and open the flow of communication.”

Speaking of expanding our thinking, Pantone went beyond just choosing a color that encapsulates the general vibe of the times by creating a multi-sensory aspect to the Color of the Year to bring the hue and its connotations to life. This includes a sound, texture, taste and scent.
