When the Texas Association of College & University Printers (TACUP) learned that the entire U.S. printing community would be coming to Dallas for PRINTING United, members couldn't have been more thrilled. The group immediately made plans to hold its 2019 conference in Dallas.
Now, to make sure in-plants from around the country who are coming to the show feel right at home, the group is inviting all of them to its opening reception on Oct. 22 and to its nightly hospitality suites for networking.
With roots stretching back to 1977, TACUP has been bringing together in-plant managers from across Texas for many years for educational sessions and discussions designed to help one another improve their operations. This year, with so many educational opportunities happening at PRINTING United, the group plans to meet informally after show hours so managers can share what they've learned at the show.
The first networking opportunity will be a reception Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 7-9 p.m. in the Sanger Kessler Room at the Crowne Plaza Dallas Downtown, two blocks from the convention center. It is being sponsored by Rochester Software Associates. There will be no charge for representatives of in-plant printing facilities, but they will need to RSVP by Oct. 1 to Arthur.Pare@ttuhsc.edu.
Additionally, each evening of the three-day show, in-plants are invited to gather on the ninth floor of the Crowne Plaza from 9:00-12:00 to discuss the technologies they saw on the show floor. This will be an excellent opportunity for managers from around the country to mingle with and learn from their peers. The hospitality suite is being sponsored by Kodak.
Unrelated to TACUP, the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association will be hosting an In-Plant Happy Hour, sponsored by Ricoh, from 4-6 pm on Oct. 24. Contact IPMA for details.
