June was a busy month, with many in-plant managers heading to the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association conference and others preparing for summer vacations (and staffing shortages). So which IPG stories did managers take time out of their busy schedules to read? Here are the top five:
- Prison In-plants: When Pros Are Cons (People are fascinated with jailbirds, and especially with the idea that they are doing the exact same work that other in-plants are doing. Plus there's that clever headline with the double entendre.)
- Contour Cutter, Digital Printers Bring New Business to Iowa State (Who would have thought a story about a cutter in Iowa would generate such interest?)
- Stanley Cup Parade Interrupts IPMA Conference (This certainly was a unique occasion. And it didn't hurt that Penguins team captain Sidney Crosby waved right at IPG's camera, obviously recognizing Editor Bob Neubauer's famous visage.)
- School In-plant Brings Yearbooks In-house (A story on a small New York school district wouldn't normally get people excited, but the idea of printing yearbooks, especially since it was published at graduation time, clearly captured some interest.)
- Best of Show Winners Revealed (No surprise that this story grabbed some attention, since we've been hiding the winners' identities since March.)
