Ranking in-plants by the average amount of sales each employee generates allows us to compare the efficiency and productivity of different-sized operations. It often brings smaller in-plants to the top of the list, which it did again this year.
We used our lists of the largest in-plants by sales and employees to calculate the sales per employee of each. Among the findings in our new ranking:
- Three of the top 10 on our list have fewer than 10 employees.
- University in-plants comprise half of the top 10.
- The top in-plant in our ranking generated $295,180 more revenue per employee than the next in-plant on the list.
