Bob has served as editor of In-plant Impressions since October of 1994. Prior to that he served for three years as managing editor of Printing Impressions, a commercial printing publication. Mr. Neubauer is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences and has visited more than 170 in-plant operations around the world. He has given presentations to numerous in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including the Association of College and University Printers and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association. He also coordinates the annual In-Print contest, co-sponsored by IPMA and In-plant Impressions.

In-plant Graphics Editor Bob Neubauer visited Canon Inc.'s Tokyo headquarters facility last week and met with Canon Chairman and CEO Fujio Mitarai to learn more about Canon's strategy, before traveling to Shanghai, China, to tour a Canon manufacturing operation where imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER Advance printers are made. 

In an era that admonishes printers to think differently about their product and service offerings, the Graphics of the Americas Conference & Expo (GOA) aims to help printers do exactly that by providing them with a blueprint of the future. The 2012 show—slated for March 1-3, back at the Miami Beach Convention Center after temporarily relocating to Orlando last year—boasts a strong mixture of expo exhibitors and a diverse educational session roster that drew 2,100 people in 2011.

InfoPrint Solutions Company, the joint venture between IBM and Ricoh, today announced that Liz Miller, Vice President of the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Council will be the keynote speaker to a global audience at InfoPrint’s upcoming forum, “Make Your Mark.” This two-day interactive session will be held at InfoPrint’s recently launched Innovation Center, in Boulder, CO, and is aimed at customers in service bureaus and the direct mail industry.

In response to the strong demand for its digital plates throughout the Americas, Kodak has completed the previously announced expansion of its digital plate production facility in Columbus, Georgia. Adding 26,000 square feet to the existing facility, Kodak is using this third production line to meet the digital plate supply needs of print service providers in a wide variety of markets, and to further its commitment to advancing digital plate production processes and technologies.

MGI USA, the multi-substrate (paper and plastic) digital press and finishing solutions manufacturer, announced that they have added six new dealers to their U.S. network within recent months: The Oldham Group, Graphco, Paper Handling Solutions, Guaranteed Service & Supplies, Inc. (GSS Graphics), Print & Finishing Solutions and Ken Williams Graphic Consulting, Inc.
