Bob has served as editor of In-plant Impressions since October of 1994. Prior to that he served for three years as managing editor of Printing Impressions, a commercial printing publication. Mr. Neubauer is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences and has visited more than 170 in-plant operations around the world. He has given presentations to numerous in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including the Association of College and University Printers and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association. He also coordinates the annual In-Print contest, co-sponsored by IPMA and In-plant Impressions.

To service its customers in the industrial and manufacturing sector, Allied Reliability Group depends on its in-plant to provide hundreds of thousands of training manuals, training certificates, course catalogs, brochures, posters and other materials each year. The company's network of 200+ employees turns to Production Specialist Cindy Ley, the in-plant's sole employee, for these products, and she, in turn, relies on her shop's Ricoh Pro C901 digital color press.

There was something about the recent In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) conference in Charleston, S.C., that really made it stand out; something more than the great sessions and packed vendor fair; something beyond the fact that Ricoh Americas launched a major color print system there, bringing the event into the national spotlight.

In a ceremony on June 8 in Charleston, S.C., the winners of the In-Print 2011 Best of Show awards were revealed. Brigham Young University was honored with the top award out of all the Gold winners in the offset categories, while the University of North Texas won the Best of Show award for the second year in a row in the non-offset categories.

Last week more than 135 in-plant managers met in Charleston, S.C. for the 52nd In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association conference. With 44 first-time attendees and more than 135 in-plants overall, the conference was bustling with activity, conversations and excitement.

With nearly 30 educational sessions taking place during the four-day span of last week's In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) conference, managers had a busy week indeed.
