After transforming El Paso County’s copy center into a true digital print operation, Rodolfo Garcia has upgraded both the capabilities and the perception of the in-plant. Drawing on more than 25 years of printing experience, he shifted the operation from basic copying of hard documents to high-quality output from digital files, added a range of finishing options such as saddle stitching, hole punching, spiral binding, and booklet making, and implemented a cost-covering fee schedule that still beats outside vendors. He’s also building internal awareness with banners and professional-looking samples that showcase the improved quality and stock selection.

Now, with a Canon Arizona flatbed printer on the way to handle durable signage for Facilities, the Sheriff’s Department, and Parks and Recreation, Garcia plans to attend the Printing United Expo in Las Vegas to explore promotional and awards printing solutions that will further expand the services and value his El Paso in-plant provides to county departments.
