G7+ Exchange to Precede Expo - In-plant Impressions

Preceding the main Expo, the G7+ Exchange takes place on Tuesday, October 21, offering a unique peer-to-peer learning experience focused on color accuracy and consistency. Joe Marin, senior vice president of Member Services at PRINTING United Alliance, emphasizes the community-driven nature of this event: “At the G7+ Exchange, the room doesn't revolve around a single speaker. It revolves around shared experience.”

The exchange represents a fundamental shift in how color management education is delivered within the printing industry. Running from 12:30 to 5:30 PM at the Orange County Convention Center, this event is designed around the principle that the most valuable learning comes from practitioners sharing real-world experiences rather than theoretical presentations.

The exchange moves away from traditional lecture-style learning toward collaborative insight sharing. When printers, brand owners, creatives, and OEMs gather to share what worked, what didn’t, and what they’d do differently, attendees receive tested techniques and smart fixes for real-world challenges. This format is particularly valuable in color management, where successful implementation often depends on understanding the nuances of specific equipment, substrates, and workflow configurations.

The event’s structure includes short, concise presentations and panel discussions, complemented by roundtable formats that keep conversations focused and collaborative. As Marin notes, “You’re not just watching a slide deck. G7+ represents a modern upgrade to the proven G7 foundation, featuring new calibration logic, enhanced gray balance algorithms, and support for challenging conditions, including high-density inkjet, textiles, and colored substrates. The enhanced system maintains the familiar appearance of G7 while incorporating smarter underlying technology that makes it more adaptable to diverse printing processes than ever before.

As Marin explains, “G7+ is a reflection of where the industry is headed. As print applications expand, and customer expectations around color accuracy and consistency grow, tools like G7+ help printers keep up, especially when working across different substrates, technologies, or platforms.” At the Exchange, attendees will gain clear insights into how G7+ functions in actual print environments, hearing directly from practitioners about their experiences using the system to solve everyday challenges such as achieving better results on difficult substrates, or maintaining color consistency across different presses and platforms.
