Scott Plaskiewicz explains how Contra Costa County Print and Mail Services modernized its high-volume in-plant by replacing all production equipment with a fleet of Canon inkjet and toner presses to improve quality, reliability, and cost efficiency, enabling the 28-employee in-plant to bring previously outsourced work in-house.
The in-plant uses this equipment to print a range of work — from high-volume variable data jobs to brochures, banners, and bound books. Plaskiewicz highlights the Canon iX 3200’s ability to print reliably on coated, uncoated, and specialty stocks at near-offset quality.
He says the imagePRESS V1000 enables tight-registration business cards and new long-sheet applications like trifolds and landscape-format booklets, while the Titan monochrome presses handle high-volume black-and-white work efficiently.
