After almost three decades of championing in‑house excellence in higher and further education, ACPME — The Association of Creative and Print Managers in Education — has entered an exciting new era. The organization proudly relaunches as The ICPA: The In‑house Creative & Print Alliance, expanding its reach and strengthening its mission to support the full spectrum of in‑plant creative, print, and mailing teams across the U.K.![]()
For nearly 30 years, ACPME brought together internal service teams to share best practices, supercharge innovation, and elevate the strategic influence of in‑house operations. Members benefited from a powerful mix of peer support, industry insight, benchmarking tools, professional development and dynamic events with leading commercial partners. Now, as The ICPA, they’ll receive all of that — and more.
The ICPA opens its doors to a far wider community, welcoming in‑house teams from government, charities, not‑for‑profits, and corporate in‑plants. The goal is simple: to create the UK’s ultimate support and networking hub for designers, photographers, videographers, print specialists, and mailing professionals working inside their organizations.
Across the U.K., countless in‑plant operations sit outside associations designed for fully commercial enterprises. The ICPA fills that gap. If you work in‑house and want a community that truly understands your challenges, your processes and your pressures, this is where you belong.
Because at our core, we all have one thing in common: we are in‑plant.
Every team is different. Our members’ roles, responsibilities, and influence may vary, but their mission is shared: keep work (and budgets) in‑house, deliver smarter savings, and champion the creative and operational services that help their organizations thrive.
What sets The ICPA apart is the camaraderie. This is a vibrant, plugged‑in network buzzing with collaboration and curiosity. Members meet often — to swap ideas, navigate emerging opportunities, explore trade shows together, and open the doors to their own in‑plants for shared learning. Each year, the community comes together to celebrate its achievements at the flagship ICPA Annual Conference.
And above all, members support one another. Whether tackling supplier issues, shaping a new service, evaluating tenders or proving ROI, practical advice from seasoned peers is always just an email away.
Michelle Barraclough, ICPA Chair, says: “By joining The ICPA, your institution can reclaim weeks of lost time, energize teams, boost productivity and unlock major cost savings. With a thriving community of over 100 members across England, Scotland and Wales, you’ll be part of a network that lives and breathes in‑house creative and print excellence.”
Membership offers sector‑specific professional development, platforms to showcase outstanding in‑house work, and the collective expertise needed to navigate today’s evolving demands with confidence.
