MEMPHIS, TN—International Paper announced it is in talks with Norcross, GA-based Unisource regarding a proposed business combination of xpedx, International Paper's distribution business, and Unisource. Both xpedx and Unisource are business-to-business distributors of printing, packaging and facility supplies.
xpedx has set sustainability goals in 2013 to advance its leadership role in offering sustainable solutions to its customers in printing, packaging and facilities supplies. “Our commitment is to deliver products our customers want while ensuring responsible stewardship of natural resources for generations to come,” said Dave Wallace, xpedx director of sustainability.
International Paper is in talks with Unisource regarding a proposed business combination of xpedx, International Paper's distribution business, and Unisource. The discussions were initiated when Unisource approached International Paper about a possible merger, and on April 19, 2013, the parties entered into a non-binding letter of intent to explore a possible transaction.
xpedx has expanded its schedule of Wide Format Solutions Summits to 28 shows in 14 new cities in 2013 after having great success with the summits in five locations last year.
