PRINTING United Expo is set to take over Orlando, Florida, Oct. 22-24. Attendees are gearing up for three days of learning, networking, and inspiration.
As a lead-up to the Expo, we are sharing a series of interviews featuring attendees from a variety of backgrounds explaining why they are attending the Expo, what they hope to learn, and what excites them about the upcoming event.

Why have you decided to attend PRINTING United Expo again this year?
I am excited to take a close look at finishing equipment, especially book binding solutions, and explore options to replace our Duplo 5000 bookletmaker that has served us for over a decade. This is also a great opportunity for my new boss, who comes from a technology background, to see what is possible in our industry and understand the tools that can take us forward.
What ideas did you bring home from last year’s Expo that helped your in-plant?
Last year I focused on automation and software. We made strategic purchases based on what I saw, and we are in the middle of implementation now. I expect to see major efficiency gains this year as those upgrades come fully online.
What equipment are you most looking forward to seeing this year?
I am most interested in book binding equipment, including both bookletmakers and perfect binders, as well as UV coating or laminating solutions that can elevate the quality and durability of our products.
Why is attending the Expo better than going to a vendor’s demo center to see equipment?
At the Expo, you get to see multiple vendors side by side, and that is an experience you simply cannot recreate in a demo center. When a manufacturer shows up with a strong presence, it sends a clear message about their dedication to supporting the industry. It shows they are confident enough to stand alongside their competitors and put their capabilities and products on display.
Is networking with industry peers an important reason for attending the Expo?
Yes, it is one of the best parts. Talking to other in-plants about what is working for them is incredibly valuable. This year it will also give my boss a chance to connect with peers and see firsthand how other shops are innovating.
