An employee working at the Government Printing Office (GPO) on the 700 block of North Capitol Street in Washington, DC, was seriously injured Wednesday when his hand was caught in a paper baler, reported The Washington Post.
According to The Post, a GPO spokesman said that some fellow employees saw the man injure his hand and assisted him until emergency responders arrived on the scene.
The injured employee was taken to a hospital and was listed in critical condition after the accident, said Tim Wilson, a DC fire department spokesman.
The Government Printing Office is investigating what happened.
