GPO Honors Long-time Employee
The Government Printing Office recently honored one of its long-time employees for 64 years of federal service. Virginia Saunders started as a clerk typist at the F.B.I. in 1945, before spending the last 63 years working at the GPO.
"Retirement has crossed my mind, but what else would I do?" says Saunders. "This is where my heart is."
Since 1969, Saunders has been responsible for the Congressional Serial Set. This publication is a case bound compilation of all House and Senate documents and reports for each session of Congress.
"Virginia's enthusiasm is contagious," lauds Public Printer Bob Tapella. "Her contributions to GPO and our nation are truly remarkable. She has given her life to federal service and I think she's an excellent role model for all employees at GPO."
