IPMA Conference Wraps Up In Albuquerque
The In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) conference concluded on Wednesday in Albuquerque, N.M., with the presentation of this year's In-Print contest awards. At the very end of the evening awards banquet, two Best of Show winners were honored. The University of Oklahoma won Best of Show for offset, and the University of North Texas claimed Best of Show out of all the digitally printed pieces in the contest.
Each winner was revealed in a video, produced by IPG, which showed the In-Print judges selecting the Best of Show winner. Those videos will be on the IPG site in the coming days.
Other highlights from the successful conference included an enjoyable and informative keynote presentation from digital print sales expert Bill Farquerson. InfoTrends' Barb Pellow also offered some excellent ideas on the conference's second day. A lunchtime talk by IPG Editor Bob Neubauer provided both an amusing look at his family's history in Albuquerque and some data on trends in the in-plant industry.
At the IPMA business lunch, President John Sarantakos revealed that the association is "healthy and growing" with a positive cash flow. IPMA headquarters was recently moved to a larger space, he said.
On Monday evening, the entire group traveled to one of Albuquerque's best restaurants, El Pinto, for an enjoyable dinner on the outdoor patio. Watch for photos and a full report on the IPMA 2010 conference in the next issue of IPG.
