Larry Clements, of Redlands Community College—who was on hand to photograph the winners—also served as a substitute judge when other judges stepped aside during categories their in-plant had entered.
Once all the winners had been picked, the judges laid out all 26 Gold award winning pieces and selected two Best of Show winners (one offset, one non-offset). Seventeen in-plants were in the running for these prestigious awards. The Best of Show winners will be revealed in June at an awards ceremony in Orlando, during the IPMA conference.
At the end of the day, judges gave a second look at a collection of pieces they had earlier eliminated for small flaws, but which were otherwise impressive. The five pieces they selected will receive special recognition awards at the conference.
