Printing Industry Views to be Heard at "Print's Voice '13" Capitol Hill Fly-In
RESTON, VA—April 15, 2013—NPES members and their customers in the graphic communications industry will convene in Washington, D.C., June 4-5, 2013, for PRINT'S VOICE '13 meetings with congressional leaders and briefings by policy experts. The 2013 Capitol Hill Fly-In will give participants the opportunity to advocate for a restructured and revitalized U.S. Postal System, pro-growth capital investment tax policy, and free and fair international trade policies.
"I encourage NPES and Printing Industries of America members to join in this singular opportunity to speak directly to congressional leaders and to hear from political and policy experts on issues relevant to our businesses and our employees' livelihoods," says NPES Government Affairs Chairman Rose Rose, president of Nova Pressroom Products.
NPES President Ralph Nappi added that key issues, such as postal reform—that are of significant importance to NPES members and their customers—it's vital for the industry to weigh in with the information legislators' need to make informed decisions. "And there's no better way to convey our message than in face-to-face meetings with their constituents."
The agenda for the Fly-In includes a Tuesday welcome luncheon and afternoon briefings by Washington, D.C.-based policy experts. The day will wrap up with a Congressional reception and dinner. The program will resume on Wednesday morning at the Capitol Hill Club with a breakfast meeting where U.S. Postmaster General Patrick R. Donahoe will address the group.
Fly-In participants will spend the rest of the morning and afternoon on Wednesday making visits to various congressional offices. There will also be a congressional luncheon featuring senior leaders of the U.S. Senate. This year's Fly-In will conclude on Wednesday evening with a gala dinner and entertainment provided by the humorous ensemble group, The Capitol Steps.
