Refuse Small Jobs? Never!
After hearing a commercial printer imply he would refuse a customer’s business if the job was too small, IPG blogger Ray Chambers was incredulous.
"Can you imagine how long an in-plant would last if we took that approach?" he asks, in his latest blog. "Try telling a customer that you have more important things to do and his/her job is too small for you to waste your time on, and see how long you’ll be around."
Chambers notes that the same commercial printers who are telling in-plants' bosses that their in-plants are inefficient, costly and wasteful, as they seek to have the work outsourced to them, are considering refusing jobs they consider beneath them. In-plants, on the other hand, take care of all of their organizations’ document requirements, no matter how small, to help contribute to their parent organizations’ success.
