TACUP Conference in Two Weeks
Texas stands out from other states for many reasons. One of them is that it's the only state with its own in-plant association. Since 1977, the Texas Association Of College And University Printers (TACUP) has been meeting in locations all over the Lone Star State. On October 21-24 the group will do so again at the Overton Hotel and Convention Center in Lubbock.
About 40 in-plant managers are expected at the event, which will feature educational seminars, vendor exhibits, networking opportunities and tours of the in-plant at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center as well as Texas Tech University Mail Services. Debbie Cate and Arthur Pare of TTUHSC are hosting this year's conference.
Speakers will include Peter Muir, president of Bizucate Inc. His topic will center on using all the resources available to managers to keep their facilities as a viable asset to the institution. Retired director of the University of North Texas' in-plant Jimmy Friend will discuss how print and mail depend on each other for survival. Cody Bettis, president of DocuNav Solutions, will explore a new revenue stream for mail centers—opening, scanning and delivering mail electronically. USPS representatives will be on hand to discuss Every Door Direct Mail and IMb requirements, which will be mandatory in January 2014.
The opening reception will include a “speed-networking” exercise to get people to build their individual network early in the conference. For more information and to register for TACUP, click here.
