Apparel decoration is becoming a popular value-added service for in-plants, with 12% of them already providing it, according to IPI data. Direct-to-film (DTF) printers are among the top five pieces of equipment in-plants plan to acquire over the next two years.
Those interested in learning more about apparel decoration are in luck. PRINTING United Expo’s Apparel Zone will provide a hands-on training destination. From heat-applied graphics to embroidery, the expert-led training zone is perfect for beginner and veteran decorators alike.
Central to the Apparel Zone is the Apparelist Live Theatre, where 45-minute presentations will happen on a rolling schedule throughout the Expo. Sessions will focus on apparel decorating techniques, business practices, and production workflows. On Oct. 22, talks include best practices for DTF printing, how to evaluate digital vendors, branded merchandise, the chemistry behind DTF inks, pairing printing methods with fabric choices, and more. On October 23, the agenda continues with a deeper dive into DTF business models, mastering embroidery, building web stores, color/art set-up sessions, and other topics.
Sessions are free. Check them all out here.
