At FESPA this week in Barcelona, Spain, HP announced the new HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9⁺ PostScript Printer Series Plus Edition, marking the next step in the evolution of its Large Format Printing graphics portfolio. Designed for small and medium-sized businesses, including copy shops, education facilities, and architecture firms, the new printer combines high image quality and simplified workflows in a unified platform. This launch reinforces HP’s broader momentum in Large Format Printing, including continued innovation in HP PrintOS Production Hub workflow automation and increasing customer adoption of the HP Latex FS70 W.
Built on a proven platform with more than 40,000 units installed worldwide, the new printers combine the strengths of the previous HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9 printers to expand access to professional photo-quality output across a range of industries.
“Print businesses today need to do more with less -- faster turnaround, broader applications, and consistent quality,” said Daniel Martinez, SVP and Division President, HP Large Format Printing. “The HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9⁺ PostScript Printer Series Plus Edition is built to deliver the precision, quality, and productivity customers need to grow profitably.”
A single platform built for stunning quality, productivity, and simplicity.
The HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9⁺ Plus Edition are built for applications ranging from professional photography and retail graphics to posters and technical prints. Featuring HP Pixel Control technology and HP Vivid Photo Inks, the printers produce sharp detail, smooth gradients, and water- and fade-resistant prints.1 HP’s dual-drop technology also enables high-quality output without requiring light inks, helping maintain productivity across multiple media types.
The HP DesignJet Z9⁺ Plus Edition Printer is designed for colour-critical applications, including professional photography and high-end graphics. It also features an embedded spectrophotometer for consistent colour calibration and optional HP Gloss Enhancer for improved gloss uniformity.
New productivity print modes can increase output by up to 90%, while dual-roll support, automatic roll switching, and an integrated vertical trimmer help reduce manual intervention and post-processing time.
The printers also integrate with HP Click App and Driver, helping users simplify file preparation and reduce reprints,6 while HP Wolf Pro Security helps protect devices, data, and print workflows.7
The HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9⁺ PostScript® Printer Series Plus Edition will be generally available from June 22, 2026.
New features in HP PrintOS Production Hub continue to streamline and simplify workflows
HP PrintOS Production Hub — the only large format software that integrates order management, job preparation, and remote print control in one connected workflow — continues to evolve with powerful new capabilities designed to remove friction from every stage of print production.
Managing client communication during the pre-production phase has traditionally been a major bottleneck for PSPs. The new Order Approval feature enables customers to review, request changes, and approve jobs directly within the platform, helping accelerate approvals, reduce errors, and improve visibility across the PSP organization.
The new Orders API enables integration with CRM, ERP, MIS, and accounting systems, reducing manual entry and improving workflow traceability.
The new ‘AI Upscale Image’ in Production Hub uses AI to enhance low-resolution images during file preparation, helping reduce reprints and manual corrections to make the process as easy and accessible as possible.
Together, these new features reinforce HP's commitment to helping PSPs of every size operate in more connected, efficient and scalable print environments.
Newlab, One of the Early Customers in EMEA to Install the HP Latex FS70 W
HP is also continuing to see strong momentum for the HP Latex FS70 W Printer, first introduced in October 2025 and now making its first tradeshow appearance in EMEA at FESPA 2026. HP’s most productive Latex printer combines high image quality, productivity, and white ink capabilities to support a broader range of applications.
Among the early adopters in EMEA is Newlab, a professional photo lab and creative production company, which selected the HP Latex FS70 W to support growing demand for premium applications.
“The quality impressed us immediately, but above all, it was the productivity gains that stood out,” said Giuliano Goffi, Owner of Newlab. “The HP Latex FS70 W has significantly reduced our production times while opening new creative possibilities with white ink across a much wider range of applications.”
The addition of white ink capabilities has enabled Newlab to expand into applications across transparent and specialty materials while maintaining consistent output quality across both rigid and flexible media. Building on this experience, the company plans to continue investing in the HP Latex FS70 W platform as part of its long-term growth strategy.
