Xeikon 9800 Digital Color Press To Replace Xeikon 8800

On Monday, Xeikon launched a new dry toner-based digital color press, the Xeikon 9800 at Hunkeler Innovationdays, in Switzerland. It uses Xeikon’s new QA-CD toner, delivering speeds up to 21.5 meters per minute at reduced consumables cost. The Xeikon 9800 will replace the Xeikon 8800 press.

The Xeikon 9800 digital color press can print on a range of untreated substrates ranging from lightweight 40 gsm to 300 gsm. Its Xeikon QA-CD toner and high-quality imaging system deliver a print resolution of 1200×3600 dpi with variable dot density for unmatched quality. Integrated with the variable data capabilities of the Xeikon X-800 front-end, this press is suited for high-end direct marketing work.

At speeds of up to 21.5 meters per minute, the Xeikon 9800 is the most productive digital color press in the Xeikon portfolio with 5/5 single-pass duplex printing. Available QA-CD toners include CMYK, red, green, blue, extra magenta and SuperBlack as well as white and clear (UV reflecting) toner.

At Hunkeler Innovationdays, the Xeikon 9800 was shown as part of the new Xeikon Leaflet Production Suite, also unveiled at the event.
