IPMA Road Show Comes to Church of Scientology's In-plant
Five weeks after its successful In-plant Road Show at the U.S. Government Publishing Office, the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) brought its second Road Show of 2026 to the other side of the country.
Yesterday in Commerce, California, the Church of Scientology's Dissemination and Distribution Center opened the doors of its massive in-plant for a full day of networking and education. The event drew 68 attendees including nearly 30 in-plant managers from organizations such as CSU Fullerton, Knotts Berry Farm, Los Angeles Department of Power and Water, Long Beach USD, Pasadena City College, Mount St. Marys, and the International Printing Museum, among others.
After a welcome by General Manager Angela Furness, Ricoh and Domtar offered educational sessions. Then attendees had a chance to visit the booths set up by exhibitors and talk with them about the solutions they provide. After lunch, Pressroom Manager Jud Posner gave a presentation on organizing for success.
Then attendees toured the cavernous and remarkably clean 185,000-sq.-ft. facility, which utilizes a six-unit Goss Sunday 2000 heatset web press, a five-color Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105 with coater, an HP Indigo 7200, and a Fujifilm J Press 540W inkjet press, among other equipment. The operation also has a 16.4-ft. HP Scitex XL1500 grand-format printer and four 60" HP Designjet Z6100 printers, which it uses to print a high volume of banners, billboards, door signs, reverse-printed acrylics, vintage photographs, and more.
This was just the second Road Show of the year planned by IPMA. These events are free to all in-plants. IPMA’s next event will be its annual conference in Greenville, South Carolina, June 14-18.
