Senior leaders set ambitious goals, but it’s middle managers who must translate those goals into executable programs, projects, and daily decisions. This is where in-plant managers struggle, writes Consultant Lois Ritarossi in a new blog post on the IPMA site.
With limited time, constrained resources, and competing priorities, many managers are unsure how to get started following through on these goals. Ritarossi, president of High Rock Strategies, suggests using AI to generate improvement ideas.
“AI can assist in turning high-level goals into operational projects,” she writes, and offers a practical prompt framework that encourages managers to ask AI for improvement ideas they may not have considered. AI can help managers uncover new approaches, test assumptions, and move beyond familiar fixes, she notes.
