Inspecting more than 480 printed pieces over the course of a single day is an exhausting experience. Nevertheless, the judges of the In-Print 2013 contest managed to do just that on March 11, when they gathered at IPMA headquarters in Kearney, Mo., just outside of Kansas City. As a result of their efforts, 34 different in-plants will be a whole lot happier when they learn they won awards in the only national printing contest exclusively for in-plants.

The winners of the In-Print 2012 contest have been announced. The contest, judged last week in Kearney, Mo., drew more than 450 entries and yielded 79 winners from 37 different in-plants. These included at least 20 winners that have never won an In-Print award. All told, the judges awarded 35 Gold, 25 Silver, 18 Bronze and one Judges Recognition Award.
The In-plant Printing and Mailing Association has a new president. Michael K. Loyd, director of Procurement Auxiliary Services for Louisiana State University, recently stepped into the role, replacing John Hurt, who is now IPMA’s director of Development. Loyd, an IPG editorial advisory board member, joined IPMA in 1995 and has served as president-elect, secretary-treasurer and in several capacities for the Louisiana Bayou Chapter. IPMA is a professional organization dedicated exclusively to the needs of corporate publishing, printing, mailing and distribution professionals. Established in 1964, it is now headquartered in Kearney, MO.
