As Iowa State University Printing Services celebrates a century of operation, we talked with Director Nathan Thole about his in-plant’s enduring appeal, its recent open house, and why the in-plant decided to install an inkjet press, becoming one of the first university in-plants to do so.

Very few in-plants ever reach the century mark, and Nathan Thole is proud to count his in-plant among them. Iowa State University Printing Services has seen many technology changes over the past 100 years, and is now blazing a trail into production inkjet printing.

As it celebrates 100 years of operation this year, Iowa State University Printing Services is marking yet another milestone by becoming one of the first university in-plants to install an inkjet press.
