Today in Las Vegas, hundreds of in-plant managers joined thousands of other print providers in the Las Vegas Convention Center for the opening day of PRINTING United Expo 2026. In my first half hour on the show floor I ran into managers from Lockheed Martin, Mayo Clinic, University of California San Francisco, and Modern Woodmen of America. Nearly 850 exhibitors are here showing off thousands of products in two separate halls totaling one million sqft of space.

The crowds are rolling in.
Beyond the vast arrays of equipment, other highlights at the Expo this week include:
- Andy Paparozzi, chief economist at PRINTING United Alliance, opened the show this morning with his Printing Industry Outlook 2027 presentation. This was one of more than 70 show floor and paid education sessions taking place here this week.
- In-plant managers will be gathering this afternoon for another in a long line of In-plant Forums, hosted by In-plant Impressions. IPI Editor Bob Neubauer will report on trends from a new in-plant survey, Dave Earp will talk about the new in-plant he created, and attendees will get a chance to share updates on their successes back home.
- The PRINTING AI Pavilion is even more popular than it was at last year's Expo. It's highlighting practical applications that demonstrate how AI can improve automation, decision-making, efficiency, and business performance.
- The ASI Show Pavilion serves as a bridge between print and promotional products where printers and distributors can meet suppliers, explore new categories, and identify growth opportunities across both markets.
- The Apparel Zone gathers decorated-apparel technologies, techniques, education, and real-world applications to help decorators expand their capabilities.
- In the PDAA Zone installation demonstrations abound: wraps, surface graphics, and applications across vehicles.
- Tonight at Zouk Nightclub, everyone is invited to the Opening Night Industry Party for an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, a live DJ, electric violin, entertainment, and a celebration of the printing community.
Among the highly anticipated equipment debuts at the show are several new inkjet and toner presses, scores of wide-format printers, and lots of new automated bindery solutions. IPI will provide updates throughout the show.
