Dan Marx, Content Director for Wide-Format Impressions, holds extensive knowledge of the graphic communications industry, resulting from his more than three decades working closely with business owners, equipment and materials developers, and thought leaders.

Bob has served as editor of In-plant Impressions since October of 1994. Prior to that he served for three years as managing editor of Printing Impressions, a commercial printing publication. Mr. Neubauer is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences and has visited more than 170 in-plant operations around the world. He has given presentations to numerous in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including the Association of College and University Printers and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association. He also coordinates the annual In-Print contest, co-sponsored by IPMA and In-plant Impressions.

Though Katy Folk-Way directs one of the largest university in-plants, print and mail aren’t her only priorities. Sustainability and the well-being of her staff are two of her primary focuses.

March is Women’s History Month, a time to focus on the often-overlooked contributions women have made to this country’s history. This got me pondering the role women have played in the in-plant industry.

COVID has been tough on everyone, even the largest in-plants. We spoke with several to learn how the pandemic altered the work they do, how supply chain issues are impacting them, and how they have remained essential to their organizations.
