I just returned from my 18th Association of College and University Printers conference. it was another great conference, bringing together managers from all over the country
U.K.
A chilly rain dampened the highway on the 90-minute bus drive to Mankato, Minn., Wednesday morning, as the third day of ACUP got underway. Attendees of the 48th annual Association of College and University Printers (ACUP) conference spent the morning touring Minnesota State University-Mankato's print and mail operations, overseen by ACUP host Doug Fenske. They saw his well-equipped offset and digital printing facility and spent time talking with operators.
Temperatures in Minneapolis cooled a bit on the second day of ACUP 2013, but the enthusiasm certainly did not. About 80 managers from 25 states and the U.K. are gathered in the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” right now for the 48th annual Association of College and University Printers (ACUP) conference.
After a long, cold winter, Minneapolis greeted college and university in-plant managers with warm temperatures and cloudy skies on the first day of ACUP. About 80 managers from 25 states and the U.K. are gathered in the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” right now for the 48th annual Association of College and University Printers (ACUP) conference.
The U.K.-based University Print Managers Group met recently in County Durham, bringing dozens of higher-ed in-plant managers together. One of the speakers was U.S. in-plant manager Catherine Chambers, from Virginia Tech, who gave a session called “Sustaining Operations in Turbulent Times” in which she described her use of metrics to track performance while turning around her in-plant.
IPG blogger and in-plant consultant Ray Chambers recently returned from the U.K. where he attended and presented at the University Print Managers’ Group (UPMG) conference.
